It's a place of daydreaming. It's a place for daydreamers.
My definition of daydreaming is traveling inside of you.
House for daydreaming is designed to provide the inhabitants a place where they can go deep inside of themselves and be lost deep in thoughts and imagination.
The house is a universe. A universe that is full of the inhabitant's thoughts and imagination.
Thus, a house for daydreaming is a place of disconnection. A place that is isolated from the rest of the world.
However, one can not stay in their imagination forever. One day they have to get out of their daydreaming.
The communal area at 6 Vinegar Lane(Site) offers a place for people on Vinegar Lane to gather around.
It kindly provides the inhabitants a place that helps them get out of the daydreaming world and help to adapt to the society.
So House of daydreaming is a place of reconnection.
A quote from the book Demian by Herman Hesse beautifully explains the concept of the house.
The bird fights its way out of the egg. The egg is the world. Who would be born first must destroy a world.
Through this house, I wish the inhabitants to stay in their egg as long as they want to but eventually destroy the egg.
